I was twenty six years old, with braids in my hair, and a New York attitude. I walked around this place like I owned the streets. Headphones in ears, I blasted The Cure, and Morrisey, pretending as though the music was my personal theme song. The streets of New York will always be home, no other city gives me this feeling of belonging. I wander the streets for hours upon hours, discovering little hidden gems, in little hidden side streets. There are times when I need to escape. The busy city life gets exhausting, but no matter where I go or how long I go for, I will always return.
